Have I plateaued? Is that a Thing?

A couple years ago I posted what has been my most popular and
“evergreen” piece here on Medium, about making $500/month on Substack. I posted with a photo of an airplane taking off.

This photo, above, is a more accurate visual… climbing uphill. And maybe I’ve already reached the summit and am staring down the other side. Time will tell.

With the new changes here on Medium, people are talking about Other Platforms, though, so it’s time to open my books and share an update.

The Big Names of Substack

In a recently published piece, George J. Ziogas makes some good points — tongue in cheek at times! (When he says “Substack is steady as a rock”!) He points out how Substack’s credibility goes UP when yet another Big Name climbs on board.

Last week, Margaret Atwood decided to go paid (after a bit of Substack pressure). She let readers know she doesn’t need the money and that it’ll go to the birds — her favourite place to give. A week later she thanked readers for the $10,000 that went… to her birds.

It’s taken me two years to make that.
