All solid advice!! I've lost weight in both my 40s and 50s, and am now at the weight I was--albeit different body! :)--before my first son.
I discovered flamenco--a dance for that one can begin at any age!--and yoga and hiking. I've always loved walking. I eat a huge breakfast with steel cuts oats and oat bran, walnuts and berries. When I'm hungry, and in the evenings, I have an apple. I cut almost all sugar. I loathe feeling hungry so am careful not to--it makes me grouchy and resentful. So eat veggies...and another apple! The thing is, I FEEL GREAT! I have energy and a clear mind. I wake up with minimal aches in spite of a poorly mended broken elbow and arthritis in one foot. It is SO WORTHWHILE to take care of ourselves.
