Hi David — I’ve written a number of pieces about Substack — you might find more of interest.

You want to write about something that really has a solid hold on you so you can write for the long-haul. Then consider what might be different about YOU want to write about it.

There’s some very whimsical and off-the-beaten-track stuff on Sub! Check out my friend’s “Time Travel Kitchen” — she’s a retired baker who happens to live in a 1927 re-furbished live-in Chicago hotel… that has a complete 1927 kitchen! She uses vintage cookbooks (and is an amazing photographer!) and bakes and shares history and stories. Then there is another guy I’ve come to know who write political sonnets…anyway, there is room for everything. Also know that you can have different SECTIONS within one publication! So you might have 2 or 3 areas you cover.

Check out my newsletter and my list of “recommended” for more ideas! Wishing you the best with your venture and writing!
