Hi Ramona! I had indeed purchased the domain (and my web person suggested that if I’m just going to let it sit, I at least connect it with my www.alisonacheson.com site… which was a great suggest. There, I redirect to my newsletter… Yes, just using it (and earning from it, in particular) carries weight. The person/site/company that went after me offers “merchandise” of one book, and the rest would be “services.”

Given my name, I think it’s something that someone else could pick up and work with, and I wanted to protect it after putting so much work into it.

Each case is so individual. But getting that email was a rude awakening for me, and I don’t want to have to deal with anything like it again. So it made me think and act.
