I always enjoy your writing, John. LOVE the description of your home and all in it! Sorry about the stagnant faith...but your openness about it should let something Big in, I suspect! One thing I've done and enjoyed and benefitted from in the past while is reading other faiths' sacred texts. There are some beautiful and sustaining words that have held people together all over the world. I have to say, ultimately, I ended up where I started, with the words I grew up with--but the experience only added to that. Congrats on turning 39! That was almost 20 years ago for me.
