I always so appreciate your responses! Makes the writing worthwhile--thank you!

My father was very old--and ill--when I wrote him a letter to thank him for all the year of fixing and maintenance he'd done on our home. I'd had to turn down his offer on a particular bit of help as I knew he was no longer up for it...on the roof!! But felt it was time to acknowledge all he'd done...and find new things for him to do. ACTION was how he showed his love. We did find much for him to do, for as long as possible. I asked for his advice even when he could no longer speak, and he'd give me beautiful replies on his ipad--good memories. We all have something to offer, and we need to.
