I am so so sorry you have gone, and are going, through this. I've gone through workplace betrayal (of many levels and types)--and it is very hard. Especially if you've put much of your very self into it. Especially if it's supposed to be with believers and soul, as with the non-profit. That is seismic stuff, right there!

Your work here on Medium has always spoken to me. I am so busy with my new newsletter and --yes! with having RUN from my soul-destroying academic position!--that I've missed many of your more recent pieces. But your work is always infused with heart and God's love, and your joy. (Joy can so be mixed with pain--I know that, in my own life. They can become so fused it's hard to know what to do--how to hold on to the one, when the other seems to insist on coming along for the ride.)

A hug to you, John! If you have a go-fund-me or something set up for those medical bills, can you please share it? I'm Canadian, and always astounded by how that does not work South of here... oh my!! And I apologize if that's not appropriate to ask, but...!
