My son, a musician without a day job, just sold his car, and we're thinking that with some thought, planning, and willingness to do public transit at times, we should be able to share my 24 yr old Corolla. He is on my insurance, so legally not an issue.

The electric vehicles are too much about virtue-signalling. And what goes into extracting the materials for the batteries themselves makes me feel ill. We're not at a solution yet, really, except to use less and less, and upgrade transit. In Canada our transit is not very reliable. You have to allow a lot of time to get anywhere, and always carry a book :)
