So often we have to hold in our mind such disparate thoughts--as in this case. I was very fond of both him and his wife. My own family was so anti-education, that he became something of a father-figure, encouraging my studies. Making them feel real, when my family made me feel I was wasting time and money. (NOT something they came to think later!! We are all capable of change :) But at the time, that meant so much to me, as well as the fact that he actively supported with the low rent.

Much to learn from all this. Life is probably the best teacher.
