The New Testament gives us three commandments only: Love God. Love your neighbour. And love your own self is slipped in as the way to understand how to love one's neighbour... but is no less important. Perhaps self-loathing is at the root of American issues!

The focus on morality and fear has gotten us to where we are; we need something else.
