There are SO many. Yes, I do think a Substack newsletter has to be focused. While mine is focused on “writing,” I’ve taught multi-genre classes for so long and published work in such a breadth of form, that my “narrowing” is hardly that. But I’m finding that my readers are appreciative of the depth. I posted a piece on what writers can learn from other genres and forms, and that was well-read.
