This is inspiring. But for-what-it's-worth... it might still be a goal to have read-aloud time incorporated into the 9-3 time, when even the most reluctant listeners can be swept away by words. When I did teacher-training I was appalled by how the day/lesson plans are slotted into minute-by-minute breakdowns. No wonder kids are over whelmed and angry and more. (I loved the read-aloud times, and thoroughly enjoyed poetry times and walks, too.)
